Wrackleford, Dorchester, Dorset

Wrackleford is in the heart of Hardys’ Wessex & one of England’s finest shoots. Located just outside Dorchester. Many of the villages & landmarks around Wrackleford will be familiar to anyone who has watched Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage TV series.

It is not as far from London as some might imagine (105 miles to the M25), but in some respects is a million miles away. As you clock off the miles a distinct change to the feel & pace of the villages becomes evident & by the time you reach the Shooting Box you know you have reached rural Dorset.

The Shooting Box is worth a mention in it’s own right, the most incredible building designed, created & built by Oliver Pope’s father over his lifetime. There are few places more amazing to host a shoot day with a fireplace big enough to store a small car & chandelier above the dining table (seats 30!) that takes over 100 candles when fully lit. In addition the Shooting Box may be taken for the night before or after a shoot day with dinner. There are five bedrooms that sleep nine with the option for more bedrooms in Wrackleford House.

This is Cooper & Pope exclusive venue and one of which we are justifiably proud. The shooting drives are varied & we can adapt the day to mix all shooting abilities.

Non-shooting guest: £55

Price includes shooting for 16 Guns, exclusive use of the estate, a team of 8 instructors/loaders, loan of gun (licences provided), clays, ear defenders, eye protection, 4x4 transportation, four drives and a decoyed pigeon competition shoot with prizes. Light breakfast, waitress service lunch & afternoon tea with fine wines, port, beers & refreshments. Refreshments and snacks will be served during the shoot. All prices plus VAT.

 
The Shooting Party

Singles and Pairs Day

Price includes shooting for one person in a group of 12-16, exclusive use of the estate, shared use of with one other person of an instructor/loader, clays, ear defenders, eye protection, 4x4 transportation, four drives and a decoyed pigeon competition shoot with prizes. Light breakfast, waitress service lunch and afternoon tea with fine wines, port, beers and refreshments. Refreshments and snacks will be served during the shoot. All prices include VAT.
